NEWPORT NEWS, VA — In celebration of International Credit Union Day, Langley Federal Credit Union will host Shred Day on Thursday, October 16, 10am-2pm, at the Coliseum Branch on 1055 W. Mercury Blvd. in Hampton.
Shred Day will offer the community a chance to safely dispose of sensitive information and require material that might otherwise end up in our landfill sites. The Shred-it truck will be on site to shred materials. Radio personality Eric Worden of BOB FM will broadcast live from the site.
Plus, in celebration of International Credit Union Day, Langley will provide free hot dogs 11:30 am-2 pm, while supplies last. Since 1948, Credit Union Day has been celebrated annually on the third Thursday of October. This event promotes awareness of and support for the credit union difference of member ownership. Credit Unions from around the world will be celebrating the day.
Langley Federal Credit Union is a $1.2 Billion financial institution and has been in business for 72 years. The Credit Union serves over 160,000 members and ranks in the top 100 credit unions in the nation.
