Visa Card Servicing at Langley

As we continue to grow our credit union, we are always looking for new or better systems to enhance our products and services. That's why on July 8, 2022, we are converting our debit and credit cards to be managed internally at Langley, in partnership with Visa.

We're excited to offer these improved services to our members as we continue to elevate the member experience in every aspect of the credit union.

What to Know

As a member, this system upgrade will improve your overall experience. You may notice several small changes to your services - small changes that could make a big difference!

Servicing our cards allows us to provide a better member experience with features like:

  • Real-time payment posting to your credit card
  • Credit card statements will be easier to read

Along with these changes, you'll also notice things like:

  • Loan transfer and Bill Pay will change. You will need to make sure any automated transfers and Bill Pay payments you have set up to pay for your credit card shows the credit card account.
  • If you have a joint member on your account and they have the same credit card number as you, this will change. When the current credit card expires and automatically re-issues, each member linked to the credit card account with have their own credit card number.
  • The address to send credit card payments will change. You will no longer send payments to our North Carolina address. Credit card payments will be sent to Langley Federal Credit Union, PO Box 120128, Newport News, VA 23612.
  • If you have a business credit card with Langley, your account will no longer have one limit shared among several cardholders. Each credit card under the umbrella of the business account will have its own credit limit and receive its own statement.
  • After we upgrade our platform, there will be a new number to call for a lost or stolen card, or if you need to change your PIN. For these requests, please call 833-978-3924 to get in contact with Visa directly.

Automatic Payments & Recurring Transfers

During the upgrade, any automatic credit card payments or recurring transfers will be disrupted. Therefore, members will need to re-enact any automatic payments once the upgrade is completed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly will happen with my automatic loan transfer or Bill Pay set up to pay my credit card?

After the upgrade, you will need to log into Langley's Online Banking or your financial institution's Bill Pay to ensure your credit card account is accurately reflected before payment is sent. In our Online Banking, you can look at your scheduled transfer under the "Transfer" tab.

Will online credit card payments be affected?

Any payments on a credit card will be posted instantly. Your payment will be processed out of your account and onto your credit card, giving a better view of what you have available in savings and checking.

Will we receive new debit or credit cards after the upgrade?

No. You will only be re-issued a debit or credit card if it is expired or you have a business credit card set-up with multiple users.

What does it mean when you say your managing debit and credit card internally?

This means that Langley will handle any disputes or card issues through our contact center and card servicing departments. Along with our partners at Visa, we will be able to help for anything related to billing, transactions, fraud, and real-time card payments.

What happens to joint members who have a credit card account?

When you or your joint member's credit card expires and is automatically reissued, you will now have a unique credit card number on your new card.

What happens to my credit card statement after the upgrade?

In July, your credit card statement will look different. With this upgrade, we're improving the layout of our statements for better readability and a simpler design.

I sent my credit card payment via mail. How will this new system affect my mail-in payments?

While your July credit card statement will look different from previous statements, you will still have the opportunity to send your credit card payment via mail. However, payments are no longer sent to our North Carolina address. Credit card payments will be sent to Langley Federal Credit Union, PO Box 120128, Newport News, VA 23612.

I have card controls set-up in Online Banking. Will this upgrade affect my set-up?

Yes. Members will need to re-register for card controls and transaction alerts after July 8.

Most of the information above refers to credit cards. How will my debit card be affected?

If you have a Langley debit card, you will see little to no change to your card. Most of the system upgrade will affect how Langley handles card servicing. The only thing you will need to do is re-register for card controls and transaction alerts in Online Banking after July 8.

What will happen to my credit card payments that automatically happen each month?
