Fingerprint Login


Last week, Android deployed an update to their mobile operating system (OS). As a result, some devices that have been updated are experiencing difficulties logging in to Langley's Android mobile banking app using fingerprint/face authentication. Those logging in using a username and password are unaffected. If you would like to restore fingerprint login now, a temporary workaround has been identified. Thank you for your patience while technicians work to resolve the problem permanently.

Temporary Workaround:

  1. Disable Chrome app from device settings. These instructions are device specific, but easily found.
  2. Launch Google Play app and search for 'android system webview'.
    • Uninstall the android system webview app.
  3. Launch app and login with fingerprint or face authentication, this should be successful.
  4. Enable Chrome app and update Chrome from Play Store if updates are available.
  5. Close app and launch app again to login with biometric authentication.
