Langley Federal Credit Union Awards Grants to Local Teachers

NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Langley Federal Credit Union awarded twelve $500 grants to local educators for their financial literacy education efforts. In total, Langley provided $6,000 to fund innovative classroom programs, teaching students budgeting, saving and spending skills.

"It is so important to provide students with the basics of financial management. A good foundation gives young people the opportunity to develop disciplined saving and spending habits which will serve them well throughout their lives," stated Langley President/CEO Tom Ryan. "We applaud all of the efforts these educators have made with these programs."

Langley has been awarding the Teacher Grants for nine years, and is dedicated to educating the community on financial matters. The following is a complete list of 2016 winners:
