NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – (Jan. 26, 2026) – More than 220 Langley Federal Credit Union employees and family members volunteered at 15 nonprofit organizations on Martin Luther King Jr. Day in honor of the civil rights leader’s legacy of service. Volunteers completed a variety of service projects across the Hampton Roads region of Virginia, as well as in Richmond, Virginia, and Raleigh, North Carolina.

“We are grateful to have so many employees who graciously give their time to support our communities’ most impactful nonprofit organizations who are working diligently to improve the lives of individuals and families in need,” said Jerome Fowlkes, Langley’s Chief Impact Officer and Chairman of the Langley for Families Foundation. “Nearly thirty percent of all Langley employees volunteered this year, which is a 22% increase from last year and the most who have joined since we began observing MLK Jr. Day as a Day of Service in 2020. This participation powerfully demonstrates our team’s commitment to making a positive difference both financially and socially in the communities we serve.”
